Church Bulletins

David Crocker’s funeral will take place in Horrabridge at 1pm on 2 July for those who would like to attend.

A few other points:

  • As you know already, we now have a faculty for the removal of our defunct pipe organ and intend to remove it in the week of 7 to 13 July and fully expose the ancient screen currently hidden behind it.   The Parochial Church Council (PCC) intend to raise the money to fit a decent second hand/ex-display electronic instrument with pedals and a double manual keyboard – the point of the latter two features is that this would be the sort of instrument that itinerant/peripatetic organists would be happy to play.  As mentioned previously the PCC had set a budget of £15000 for this project and have already set aside £5000 into a Designated Fund to pump prime fundraising.  That said, your PCC has been offered a second hand organ only yesterday and we are considering the offer as I write – we will have to move fast to secure it  so please watch this space……..
  • Our gravel spreading on 1 June was a huge success, but we severely underestimated the quantities required.  So, we will be re-convening at 1030 on 15 June to complete the job – once again any help would be welcome.
  • Cocktails and Canapes at 7pm on 7 June was very successful and raised £1200 for church funds – huge thanks to Katie Warnes and her elves for all their hard work.

And remember that the Annual Sheepdog Trials are taking place on 23 August at Playing Field on Plasterdown.
